Hello Champions!
Starting this Thursday, July 12th, Cryptic Points are converting to ZEN. We're sure you have questions about this change, so we've created a FAQ — you can check it out here.

faeya17 @ Jul 17th, 2012 6:51AM
I have to admit, when they said I have no active characters, said everything I bought in the C Store was never purchased, and that I had zero cryptic points, I was a little less than 'perfect'
runwhitwolfs @ Jul 17th, 2012 12:35AM
i cant play the game and cant fix the prob i go to the luncher and it starts to load but freazis up when it gets to the cryptic loading screen but stops and says fatal error something plz plz plz help i love this game and reallly wanna play but cant someone help plz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
jaspb01 @ Jul 12th, 2012 11:35PM
Gold still have their stipend as it's gone to 500 zen so no worries for Gold. Still I loved calling cryptic points, cryptic points and Atari tokens, Atari tokens. Oh well.
exypher @ Jul 12th, 2012 12:31PM
If you want to know how much Zen you'll have, multiply your current Cryptic points by 1.25. If you kept up on this and looked into it, you'd know that already.
cyberkill1255 @ Jul 12th, 2012 12:13PM
its also hard to understand military time
kinggo4 @ Jul 12th, 2012 11:54AM
can any one tell me how much time this mantenance is going to stay !
malachai4 @ Jul 12th, 2012 11:50AM
This is sure to come back and haunt cryptic later....
kinggo4 @ Jul 12th, 2012 11:33AM
please! finish this maintenance as soon as you can until we can start playing with our champions.
cyberkill1255
Agreed out Champions are calling us.
cyberkill1255 @ Jul 12th, 2012 11:15AM
Hurry up and finish the matinence so I can play!
torkes20
Agreed. But let them do their work, so we get a better gameplay :)
sockmonkeyorti @ Jul 12th, 2012 7:43AM
Every1 that's complaining is either incredibly naive and/or doesn't know how to read. You're not losing anything with this, you're just getting a clearer understanding of what things in game cost in real world $. If you see something costs 1000Z, now you know that costs you $10, easy. PWE has a history of letting the developers who created the games they wanted to own continue to do things their way, since the whole reason they bought them is to get in on the profit of the fans who already enjoy the product. Think of it this way, if I'm building a new house and I see another house that I like that's made by an architect, I don't hire them and then say "ok you can't do it your way anymore, you have to do it like this other architect says" You say "Do what you do best, because that's what I'm paying you to do." The only REAL difference, is PWE is gonna get to say "yeah we publish that game. if you want to spend some money in it, you have to give us some of the profits cus we own it" which considering they paid $50 mil so that Atari wouldn't just shut down Cryptic and have NO1 able to play CO, I say they're entitled to that. Use some (un)common sense people.
jaazaniah1
If it's supposed to be easy it could be $1 = 1 Zen, couldn't it?
ironmancool
This just became how it was back when they were cryptic points in euros like 1000 C-Points is a value of 10 Euros, but now it just blew up on me now that the values got jumbled up for Europeans. I will never pay any extra money for ZEN instead I'l just wait for the stipend.
theravenforce @ Jul 12th, 2012 7:33AM
I currently have something like 155 CP will this mean that I will recieve 155 ZEN when I log back in after the length maintainence?
commisar92 @ Jul 11th, 2012 6:04PM
well, it seems that Perfect World is trying to unify currency throughout their games. It is a good idea.
xcookiezs @ Jul 11th, 2012 1:14PM
Bye-Bye Cryptic D:
guardianpal @ Jul 11th, 2012 10:52AM
Does that mean all prices of the C-store will be let say 800Zens for something costing 1000Cryptics? Also we talking about US dollar right?
netermest @ Jul 11th, 2012 9:17AM
Please keep in mind that $1 = 80 CP = 100 Zen; the "conversion loss" complained about in the past has always been a myth. Also, there is a website that lets you buy Perfect World card codes, albeit for a small fee. Whether with a real or virtual card, you can then whisper or mail the code to whoever you believe should receive the Zen. Keep in mind that trading Zen codes is against PW's (and most other games') rules and regs, so it's best to avoid doing so.
variatas @ Jul 10th, 2012 5:21PM
Personally, I welcome the change from a deliberately misleading 80 to $1 conversion to one that's at least more transparent. It was a shady, dishonest decision when Microsoft did it, it was a shady, dishonest decision when Cryptic did it. At least Perfect World doesn't try and hide the cost of services behind arbitrary currency valuations.
speanoz @ Jul 10th, 2012 3:58PM
Hah, look at all this love for the conversion. Perfect World, you sure know how to make some perfect commotion.
jaazaniah1 @ Jul 10th, 2012 2:06PM
Q: Can I gift ZEN to other players, like I was able to gift Virtual Cryptic Point cards? Not directly. You can send them money via PayPal, or you can purchase Perfect World ZEN Cards from a variety of reputable retailers. This is terrible! I used to buy virtual point cards online for my nephew. I don't use PayPal, so now I have to take extra time to find a store that sells cards, go there and buy one, then mail it to him. This is a huge and unnecessary leap back to the stone age in customer service!
speanoz
You can actually just list the twenty digit code off the card to your nephew who can then enter it as an activation code. Still, an unnecessarily difficult compromise, so I sympathize with you.
torkes20 @ Jul 10th, 2012 11:23AM
What else? Are you guys gonna rename Champions Online to Perfect World Online??? Please... this game is awesome, I know that PW bought it, but stop turning it into "PW things".
darkheart9843 @ Jul 10th, 2012 11:13AM
Look this is sad i can't even get on champions online anymore because of this i think there switch criptic players to perfect world and perfect world to criptic it kind of sounds like it but i can play D:
championshewolf
Did you merge your account? If you did you need to login with your PWE not your old Cryptic account.
backflash1968 @ Jul 10th, 2012 10:44AM
Honestly, I like the idea of simplifacation of the economic system in Champions Online. The current system is way too spread out and complicated. This change can only result in good things.
crypticbuxom @ Jul 10th, 2012 7:05AM
So items that were 80CP will become 100Z. Both still the value of $1. So will the numbers in the C-Store change to reflect this as well?
variatas
If you read the FAQ, you'd know that the answer is yes.
veso98vesoooo @ Jul 10th, 2012 4:45AM
I think its a good idea saving the time from converting points Its still the same thing .
nikola9997 @ Jul 10th, 2012 2:16AM
is it 1 C = 1 ZEN
championshewolf
No. When they convert it over, they will be multiplying it by 1.25 so you can actually come out ahead on the Zen. Since the current rate is $1.00 = 100 Zen = 80 CP.
