Destroids Invade Millennium City

Calling all Champions - Millennium City is being invaded! Doctor Destroyer – or another pretender to his terrifying throne – has unleashed an army of Destroids into Millennium City and taken control of the city’s billboards. Worse yet, all signs are that this is just the start of a larger invasion.
[UPDATE: Phase 1 of the invasion has been fought off, and Millennium City has a moment of peace. Make your preparations for Phase 2 later this week, because the thread of Destroyer is far from over...]
The Destroids are rampaging through the city, including Westside, though heroes have kept most of Renaissance Center clear. The Drifter has taken the lead in trying to understand the Destroid threat: Complete his daily mission to collect the Destroids’ memory cores, and he’ll reward you with a box of Questionite.
Renaissance Center’s holographic billboards have also been hacked, and every so often they will replay the message of doom. UNTIL is unsure whether this is actually Doctor Destroyer himself, the madman who nearly conquered California and burnt Detroit to a twisted ruin in 1992, or just another pretender… but either way, the billboards declare his intent to see Millennium City destroyed. You can hear his proclamation every so often, around seven minutes after the hour.

Okay. It's a fun event and all, the contests, the anniversary then this little mission, if you look at it all as a whole, but i think it's very bad that this website article is so late. Honestly, I think if you're going to release news related to an in game event, it should be done ahead of time or up until the very minute said content is released in game, not after, especially 3-4 days after the point.

I don't know what to think of this...It will probably be like the bloodmoon thing, but instead of tacoman, it will be Destroyer.

No point in trying to bother leveling in Westside right now. My mid-teens level character couldn't even do the pingpong ball missions because the random destroids are all PURPLE.

ok ive done the mission and drifter told me that theres some countdown and the champions building will be destroyed so id like so more info.

Looking forward to the next big event while enjoying what you guys did for the end of the anniversary. Kudos to the artist(s) working on these. Love the image that appears on the monitors in Ren Cen.

i actually heard that there will be a part two of this and i believe it cause when i finished the mission drifter says destroyers targeting the champions hq
